In a world where access to education remains a major development challenge, gender inequalities persist and hinder the empowerment of millions of young girls. In sub-Saharan Africa, 98 million children are out of school, with girls being the first to be deprived of this fundamental right.
In response to this reality, PACT, always committed to implementing concrete solutions for development, is launching an innovative new project: “Heroines of the Future”. Selected as a finalist in the Plan des Jeunes call for projects by Plan International France, this initiative aims to raise awareness of the barriers preventing girls from accessing education by leveraging a powerful technological tool: artificial intelligence.
An immersive experience to make inequalities visible
“Heroines of the Future” is designed as an immersive, artistic, and educational installation, aimed at engaging a broad audience. Moving beyond a purely informative approach, the project immerses visitors in the daily lives of young girls in sub-Saharan Africa through authentic, anonymized stories brought to life by AI. These testimonies, drawn from documented realities, provide a striking portrayal of the challenges these girls face: economic barriers, restrictive cultural norms, early marriages, and the lack of adequate school infrastructure.
PACT’s objective is twofold: to make the impact of education on life trajectories tangible and to encourage active engagement. By experiencing these stories, each visitor is invited to reflect and continue their involvement through an educational booklet provided at the end of the exhibition. This resource includes key statistics, additional testimonies, and action points for those who wish to contribute further.
A turning point for PACT: advancing social change in the age of artificial intelligence
With “Heroines of the Future”, PACT is exploring a new dimension of its mission by integrating artificial intelligence into its social impact initiatives. Far from the controversies surrounding AI, this project harnesses its potential for an essential purpose: amplifying voices without overexposure or appropriation. By using technology, the project preserves the anonymity of the young girls while making their testimonies accessible and impactful.
This approach represents a significant milestone for PACT, which has always championed inclusive and sustainable development through concrete actions, in-depth research, and field initiatives. “Heroines of the Future” aligns with this vision—an organization that combines research, awareness, and practical solutions to advance fundamental rights.
A call for support: every vote counts
Selected as one of six finalist projects, “Heroines of the Future” must now clear a final hurdle: the public vote. Only three projects will be chosen and receive the necessary support to become reality. The first edition is planned for Lyon in October 2025, but its realization depends entirely on the votes, which are open until March 9, 2025.
We need you! By supporting “Heroines of the Future”, you contribute to the emergence of an initiative that combines technology, education, and social engagement.
Every vote counts. Thank you for your support and commitment.
With “Heroines of the Future”, PACT demonstrates that technology, far from being an end in itself, can be a powerful tool for awareness-raising and mobilization. In a context where artificial intelligence is often seen as a threat or a challenge to be controlled, this project reminds us that it can also be a powerful lever for inclusion and social progress.
With just days left before voting closes, we are counting on you to bring this initiative to life and help amplify these voices that too often remain unheard. Because education should never be a privilege, but a universal right.
